The Master of Arts in British and North American Cultural Studies focuses on the theory and practice of English-speaking cultures in Great Britain and North America. This means that we study the world of Shakespeare just as much as the world of Walt Disney, and we work with the dialects, literatures, media and theoretical and methodological concepts which have been developed and proliferated in the past few decades.
The Masters in British and North American Cultural Studies is a trans-Atlantic program of study. The often complementary yet also conflicting British and American schools of cultural theory receive equal treatment, and the instructors possess a wide range of specializations, which extend from the Indian Subcontinent to Canada and from African-American culture to detective novels, so that a vast spectrum is available for Master´s Thesis topics.
