The programme is aimed at all health and social care practitioners, including registered nurses from all disciplines, midwives, health visitors, social workers and other professionals allied to health care (AHPs).
Practitioners in health and social care are working in an ever changing environment, and have a diverse range of demands made upon them in order to meet both employers'; requirements and their own educational needs. Similarly, practitioners' roles may change or they may be required to take on additional responsibilities, so their educational direction needs to be changed. This programme offers the flexibility for practitioners to choose from a range of modules to meet their needs.
The programme is modular in structure and part-time (normally three to four years up to a maximum of six years). Students may take one or two modules per semester. All modules are 20 credits, except for the Dissertation, which is 60 credits.
Students may exit the programme at three points:
* Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits)
* Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits)
* MSc Professional Studies (180 credits)
Core Modules (40 credits)
* Research
* Leadership

Optional modules may be chosen from either the Faculty of Health and Social Care or from programmes in the wider university. There is a wide range of modules that may be of interest - for details of the latest postgraduate programme timetable, please see the University website and click on the Faculty of Health and Social Care.
