The International Master of Science in Business Administration (IMScBA) program is extremely flexible in order to better address your individual preferences, background and professional interests.
The program is designed to prepare you for the global corporate world. Courses are divided into specific topics and you may choose the courses you think are most suitable to your profile. This is called menu-based learning.
If you have an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or other fields and feel that a future in Business Administration is the right fit for you, then this master program will allow you to gain an expertise and focus on the areas of your particular preferences. Select one of our majors and get ready to become an expert in that area.
IMScBA is a full time program, Monday to Friday, focused on newly qualified graduates who have yet to start their career with little or no professional experience.
Who Should Apply for an International Master of Science in Business Administration?
Undergraduate from other fields who are interested in a carrers in Business Administration (ie. engenering, natural science, health science, social sciences, etc)
If you have an undergraduate degree from areas not related to B.A. or Economics and think that a degree in International MSc Business Administration would be the perfect match to complement your original first cycle degree, CATÓLICA-LISBON offers you a smooth transition. A set of accelerated introductory courses called Bridging Courses will prepare you for the master program curriculums.
If you have a 1st cycle degree in any area not related to Economics or Business Administration, but you feel that some business expertise would enhance your professional life, then CATÓLICA-LISBON has something for you!
We have designed introductory courses that should give you a good foundation in Business Science and give you the pre-requisites to succeed in your 2nd cycle degree in Business Administration.
Each one of the Bridging Courses is a semester long and is worth 5.5 ECTS: contributing to the total number of ECTS needed to complete your master program.
Courses are divided into specific topics and you get to choose the courses you think are most suitable for your profile.
An International MSc degree in Business Administration requires 120 ECTS:

International Electives 18 ECTS (including Language Requirement from 4 to 8 ECTS)

These courses are designed to consolidate your integrated view of the firm and its environment. Between 4 and 8 of the following half-semester subjects (3.5 ECTS each) are necessary to deepen your understanding of Business Administration.

You are now left with ECTS to choose freely. Pick a subject to complement your area of expertise or simply choose a topic you enjoy studying. Every year CATÓLICA-LISBON will put together a set of electives taught by our own faculty, prestigious invited lecturers and top executives from the corporate world.
All the electives offered by CATÓLICA-LISBON will be considered free electives if they are not from your major.

For application purposes we do not require a formal certificate from your School, but we do require a non official document with ALL the courses you attended and its grades (You may print this information from your students' personal webpage).
We will require a formal certificate after completing your degree and no later than November (for September intake) and April (for February intake).
