The objective is to master the conceptual, technical and human aspects of online training. This M2 course trains specialists in IT environments for human learning ("EIAH" in French).
This balanced course offers a blend of teaching on IT, humanities and social sciences, technical and practical training and exploration of the theories underpinning the field and which are necessary to gain an understanding of its complexity. It focuses on the methods, techniques and knowledge required to design and script educational content, design and use educational tools (distance learning platforms, authoring and diagnostic tools) and engineer online training solutions.
This is a vocational qualification with openings into research. Teaching is delivered by online training and IT professionals as well as researchers in these fields. It takes the form of lectures, seminars, face-to-face personal and group work and, in some cases, distance learning.
International opportunities
Partner countries and institutions:
Students can benefit from contacts maintained by the AIDA (interdisciplinary approach for interactive learning environments) and MOCAH (models and tools in engineering knowledge for human learning) research teams in order to undertake placements abroad, particularly at the University of Sydney (Australia), the Quebec "télé-université" (distance learning university) and some European research teams.
Opportunities
Graduates of this Master´s can either follow it with a thesis on IT environments for human learning ("EAIH" in French) or work in training in a corporate environment or as an educational engineer for a training company (e.g. in partner companies involved in delivering the course or accept our students on placement).
As part of a continuing education process, this course can open up career development opportunities for teachers and provide up-to-date knowledge and current e-learning techniques for training and publishing professionals.
The Engineering for Online Training specialization is aimed at two types of audience:
As part of a formal education, the specialization is open first and foremost to students with an M1 in IT or those with a scientific M1 who have IT skills. Humanities students may be admitted on application.
Continuing education students are accepted from a wide range of backgrounds (teachers, training managers, IT specialists, etc.), as long as they have the equivalent of four years´ higher education. Employees have the option of taking the course over two years. In the first year, they work towards a university diploma, with teaching units (which are common with the Master´s) counting towards the Master´s. In the second year, they complete their learning by working towards the teaching units required to obtain the Master´s.
