* Graduates have theoretical knowledge in application of appropriate technology, economy and principles of sociology focused on sustainable rural development in tropical regions. Knowledge concerns latest findings in the field that allows a linking to the research in those fields.
* In case of appropriate technology the graduates have knowledge about environmentally friendly technology with high level of adaptability to the beneficiaries form rural areas in the tropics.
* The graduates have sound professional knowledge of agricultural and environmental technology, using of renewable energy resources, farm management, and project management, management of organizations and principles of socio-economic sciences.
* They understand theories, concepts and methods relevant to sustainable development in tropical rural areas.
* Their acquired knowledge makes them qualified for studies in PhD programmes. They are fully aware of the limits of their knowledge and can conceive the contents of further studies in these areas.

Requirements

Open for graduates of BSc programme Agricultural Specialisation, or BSc graduates with a solid background in biology, mathematics, agricultural or environmental sciences are the preferred candidates for the MSc programme.

The entrance examination consists of English and a knowledge test. Applicants must present a recognised and officialised BSc diploma in order to be enrolled in MSc degree studies. The programme is open for exchange students for one semester or one academic year in the framework of the EU LLP ERASMUS programme.
