* The graduates will acquire the theoretical as well as practical knowledge necessary for their professional missions in tropical and subtropical countries in the fields of agronomy and agroecology, with emphasis on agricultural crops and environmental relationships within tropical and subtropical agroecosystems.
* The graduates should be able to apply this knowledge for the development of agrarian sector in the third world countries.
* The basic knowledge implies (i) the theoretical and practical disciplines dealing with production, processing and commercialization of tropical and subtropical crops; (ii) theoretical and practical activities focusing on agroecological systems of farming in tropical and subtropical areas; and (iii) scientific disciplines dealing with biodiversity, genetic resources, protection and conservation of tropical and subtropical plant ecosystems.
* The specific knowledge acquired covers areas such as agroforestry, ethnobotany, chemoecology, pests and diseases management, phytochemistry and plant chemotaxonomy, plant tissue cultures, soil conservation and protection, or water resources management.
* The graduates understand theories, concepts and methods relevant to employment as managers in: applied research, manufacturing, services, trade, state administration in the Czech Republic as well as developing countries and international organizations in agricultural sector. Their acquired knowledge makes them qualified for studies in PhD programmes.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take test* Graduates of BSc programme Agricultural Specialisation, or BSc graduates with a solid background in biology, mathematics, agricultural or environmental sciences are the preferred candidates for the MSc programme.
* The entrance examination consists of English and a knowledge test. Applicants must present a recognised and officialised BSc diploma in order to be enrolled in MSc degree studies.
* The programme is open for exchange students for one semester or one academic year in the framework of the EU LLP ERASMUS programme.
