Telecommunication systems provide data exchange between the various radioelectronic and computer traffic control systems, remote control and radioelectronic equipment efficiency control systems, bank and trade organizations, etc. Telecommunication specialists are demanded almost in any branch of the modern industry. During the training a special attention is paid to the digital methods of message processing, principles of computer technique modern aids construction, development and operation of information transmission aids on the basis of the modern achievements of the digital electronics. Specialists in this activity should be well-trained theoretically having learnt the theory of the communication systems, message processing, principles of telecommunication networks construction.
The availability of considerable basic theoretical and practical training in the area of telecommunication and information systems will allow graduates of this speciality working also in a wide sphere of the allied directions. The Master´s degree graduate is ready for research and pedagogical activities and for the Doctoral studies as well.
Courses - Block A:Attestation Examination, Master's Dissertation and its Defence, Modelling of Systems, Optimization of Systems, Research Methodology, Signals Digital Processing Algorithms and Systems, Special Parts of Higher Mathematics, Telecommunication Systems Theory, Theory of Systems. Courses - Block B:Adaptive Signal Processing, Computer and Telecommunication Networks, Devices for Networks Structure Formation, Information Security, Integral Transformations for Signals Digital Processing, Mobile Networks,Modern Communication Networks Technologies, Signal Processors for Signal Digital Processing, Speech and Image Processing. Courses - Block C: Higher School Pedagogy, Pedagogical Practice, Theory of Digital Information Transference and Transformation,Theory of Optical and Fibre System.

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* For the documents issued beyond the borders of the Republic of Latvia the verification is performed in the Centre of Academic Information of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia.
* It is desirable to have 5.5 IELTS (TOEFL 550) for study in English, but certificate is not obligatory.
The academic study programme "Master of Engineering Sciences in Electronics" is carried out at the Faculty of Computer Science and Electronics in compliance with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia licence of 13.10.1999. Nr. 04038-1, and in full accordance with the LR Education Classification (LR code: 445232) and International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED - 97: level - 5A).
The programme is accredited by Latvian Republic Ministry of Education and Science until 31.12.2014, "Master of Engineering Sciences in Electronics" (45523) - Accreditation Certificate of Education Programme Nr. 032-1467, 18.06.2008.
