Taught in the heart of one of the principal institutional centres of the European Union, the University of Luxembourg’s innovative new bilingual (English/French) Master in European Governance distinctively combines:
The Master’s degree builds upon the research programme in European Governance established in 2004, which brings together over 25 collaborators
The principal objective of the Master in European Governance is to educate experts in European public policy, providing an advanced-level training in Political Science complemented by a wider interdisciplinarity. The programme permits students:
Module 1 - Foundations of Political Science(17 ECTS)
Module 2 - Foundations of European Governance (21 ECTS)
Module 3 - Interdisciplinary Approaches to European Governance (min. 22 ECTS)
Module 4 - European Public Policies (min. 20 ECTS)
All students must take Analyses des politiques publiques (S3; 5 ECTS) as well as a minimum of 3 further specialised policy areas courses (15 ECTS). An indicative list may be found below.
Dissertation/Internship Report : 20 ECTS
Tutorat/Projet : 5 ECTS
Option (Total): 10-15 ECTS
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

More informationCandidates must normally have completed a Bachelor’s level degree (180 ECTS) in Political Science, Law, Economics, History, Philosophy, Sociology, or another relevant area in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Admission may also be made on the basis of relevant professional experience (minimum three years), in accordance with the relevant national legislation.

Entry to the programme is competitive on the basis of the submitted dossiers, and limited to 25 places per year. The admissions committee reserves the right to interview individual candidates (in person or by telephone) where this is deemed necessary.
