The course introduces the key concepts, theories, debates and issues within the field and will equip students with the knowledge and skills required to develop a sophisticated understanding of the history and conduct of war, of contemporary strategy and of current Irish and European security policies.
The course will appeal to those interested in history, international relations, security studies and war studies. However, no specialist prior knowledge is required. The modular nature of the course, its availability on either a part-time or a full-time basis and the fact that it is taught through evening classes make the course accessible to the widest range of students.
