The EMBA Worldwide program provides executives with a "real-world," research-based education and an exciting and rewarding life experience on three different continents- with sites in North America (Pittsburgh, Pa.), South America (São Paulo, Brazil), and Europe (Prague, Czech Republic). Students will take most modules in Prague however they also participate in three week long immersion sessions, called Global Executive Forums, with their EMBA Worldwide classmates in Prague, São Paulo and Pittsburgh. These Global Executive Forums allow all of our Worldwide EMBA students the opportunity to study and network together for 25% of the required curriculum. This provides ample opportunity to develop lasting friendships with other experienced and successful EMBA students from North America, South America, Europe and beyond.
Our Professors from around the world are flown in to teach every class, ensuring that you receive the highest quality education possible with the University of Pittsburgh. All materials and books are provided and are the same ones we use at all locations. Simply put, this is the same education, curriculum, Professors, degree and AACSB accreditation as if you study in Pittsburgh directly.
We have also made some changes to our scheduling and the overall experience of becoming an MBA. All of our modules taught in Prague are from Wednesday to Sunday, once-a-month, which fits in with busy schedules both at work and home and also allows students to travel to Prague from around the region easily. We are establishing relationships with top executive search companies for our students that need career counseling and support. In essence, we are turning the University of Pittsburgh's EMBA program into much more than just 16 months of classes. We are building long-term experiences for our students and alumni to benefit from for the rest of their lives.
You can earn a EMBA Worldwide degree in 18 months taking part in sessions in Prague, Czech Republic, for five days every month. Classes begin in February 2010 and end in July 2011.
The most unique features of an EMBA Worldwide degree are the three international immersion sessions with other students, conducted in North America, Europe, and South America, held at the beginning, mid-point, and end of your program of study. Each of these Global Executive Forums lasts between five and seven days.
The Global Executive Forums allow EMBA Worldwide students to understand cross-cultural management, gain first-hand insights into international business practices, and network with fellow managers from around the world.
Before and after your sessions, you are in electronic, telephone, and video conferencing communication with your faculty and classmates, receiving materials and assignments, and getting their help and feedback on the course work you are doing. You're also in frequent contact with your study group to complete group projects and assignments.
Students enrolled at EMBA Prague take all of their classes in the Czech Republic, unless otherwise noted.
Please, see the schedule of upcoming EMBA program here.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testCandidates are evaluated for admission in two areas:
Professional experience and potentialA minimum of five years of professional experience is required for consideration. The applicant should currently be in a management position. Ten years is recommended, and the average EMBA Worldwide participant has 14 years of experience.
Individuals who are reentering the workforce or encountering a career transition, please contact EMBA Worldwide for more information.
Previous Academic PerformanceAn undergraduate degree in business is not required. However, candidates should have completed an undergraduate baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.
There is no minimum test score or grade-point average. Instead, EMBA candidates are considered on the basis of their overall profiles. For example, strong prior academic performance or exceptional test scores can compensate for individuals in the early stages of their career development. But in all cases, applications must have a clear record of high job performance and promising career potential.
Masters-Level Academic Ability (GMAT Scores)
While the GMAT is optional, it is recommended for any applicant who would benefit by enhancing their application materials with a successful GMAT score. In some cases, the GMAT may be required to help us assess the applicant's ability to perform successfully in the graduate level courses of the EMBA curriculum. When you sign up for the GMAT, you can choose to have your results sent directly to our school. Our GMAT code is: DPZ-M5-98.
Organizational Support
Supporting organizations must indicate their willingness to give their employees work-schedule support, and to allow sufficient time for classes. In addition to time off and organizational support, many candidates receive some financial support from their organizations.
English Language Proficiency
All Katz EMBA classes are conducted in English. Candidates for whom English is not their first language may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language. When you sign up for the TOEFL, you can choose to have your results sent directly to our school. Our TOEFL code is: 2927-02
Interview
All candidates will participate in an interview as the final stage of the selection process. The interview helps us assess your motivation to pursue an Executive MBA, your academic and professional experience, and your plans for the future.
