Students whose mathematical background is insufficient for direct entry to the MSc in Mathematics and its Applications may apply for this course. The first year of the programme has been designed to give students a strong background in mathematics, equivalent to the Graduate Diploma in Mathematics. This is followed by the MSc in Mathematics and its Applications.
Programme structure
Modules in the first year include, but are not limited to:
* Analysis
* Linear Algebra
* Groups, Rings and Fields
* Several Variables Calculus
* Mathematical Writing
* Computational Mathematics
* Mathematical Techniques and Differential Equations.
Depending on the student's background, the Advanced English for Academic Study (Science) module may be taken. In the second year, student follow the standard MSc in Mathematics and its Applications programme described above.
Assessment
Closed book examinations, take-home problem assignments and computer lab assignments (depending on the module).
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
