This course is designed to help you analyse and develop social enterprises using established knowledge on business democracy and co-operative management.
We developed this course with insights from founders and practitioners in the UK's leading co-operative, employee ownership and social enterprise development agencies.

These include the Social Enterprise Coalition, Cooperatives UK, Employee Ownership Association and Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship.

It is suitable for people

* seeking senior roles in an employee owned business, co-operative enterprise or voluntary sector organisation
* who work in public sector or trade union roles which have been transformed by the introduction of partnership working arrangements or the creation of social enterprises
* acting as consultants and support specialists, providing advice to third and private sector organisations that trade for a social purpose
* that want to develop a career in social enterprise or co-operative education and research

This course is designed to address the needs of people engaged in developing democratic practice and business management.

Requirements

Normally you need a good first degree or an equivalent recognised professional qualification in a business or social science related discipline from an approved awarding body.
You may already have substantial knowledge, experience and skills in a relevant field. If you don´t have a first degree we still welcome your application and will consider it on an individual basis.

If your first language is not English you must show a high level of written and verbal English language proficiency. A TOEFL test minimum mark, paper-based 570, computer-based 235, or IELTS 6.0, is the standard for non-native speakers of English. We offer English language tuition for students before the start of this course.
