This master course provides students with the necessary skills for the scientific analysis of economic issues and prepares for a possible subsequent Ph.D. program . Content and structure of the course follow Anglo-Saxon standards. Courses are taught in German and English and introduce students to current economic research. The excellent student-faculty ratio allows for direct contact with all instructors and for the exchange of scientific ideas. Students are encouraged to spend one semester abroad or visit foreign research institutes during their graduate studies.
As special features, the course offers a career coaching program and a mentoring program where master students can meet with Ph.D. students to learn about ongoing research projects.
After the master degree, Ph.D. funding is guaranteed for the best graduates.

The first semester consists of mandatory courses that cover basic topics in macro- and microeconomics, econometrics, and mathematics. In the second and third semester, students can specialize in a variety of fields, such as public finance, industrial economics, labor economics, or econometrics. Courses are taught in German and English. The program concludes with a master thesis in the fourth semester. The best students are admitted to post-graduate studies.
Applicants must have a bachelor degree or a diploma in economics or a related discipline as well as good knowledge of German and English.
They should at least have basic knowledge in macro- and microeconomics and econometrics.
