This course is ideal if you are a recent graduate wanting to develop advanced level knowledge and understanding of the social sciences. It places a strong emphasis on preparing you for a graduate level job and gives you a range of employment-related skills.
It is also suitable if you are a graduate with professional experience looking to progress in your career.
During the course you
* study the philosophical and conceptual basis of the social sciences
* gain a critical awareness of contemporary research, academic knowledge and theory in psychology, sociology, and politics. This involves looking at how to apply this knowledge to real life issues and problems
* study contemporary policy agendas and social statistics and develop skills to interpret, analyse, evaluate and apply these
The course focuses on developing your ability to investigate, analyse and integrate complex information relating to contemporary issues. You are equipped to produce high quality and thorough information and analysis for use in a professional setting. You also develop your written and verbal communication skills.
The degree has been designed with very clear aims, so all modules are mandatory. There are a number of opportunities within modules for you to pursue topics and themes that are of particular interest to you.
The course places a special emphasis on the development of professional and key skills including o presentations o writing o investigation o analysis o problem solving.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
