The students will attain knowledge in the basic issues related to the advanced micro- and nano-electronic devices, solid-state sensors and biosensors, including the reliability aspects, and in the modeling and design of digital and analog integrated circuits, advanced telecommunication systems, automation systems, artificial-intelligence and software-engineering applications, and bioengineering. The use of English as the teaching language in all courses will, among other things, provide the students with the technical terms that are most widely adopted in the field of Information and Communication Technology.
In the Academic Year 2011-2012 seven major courses belonging to the first year are all mandatory.
The courses of the second year are all elective except for Trends in Electronics that is mandatory.

Electronics and Communication Science and Technology is a 120 credit, four semester programme. It is made of core courses (60 credits = 54 credits in the first year + 6 credits in the second year), elective courses (30 credits), general-culture courses (9 credits), and a thesis work (21 credits). The core courses aim at consolidating the fundamental knowledge. In the second year the students freely choose the curriculum classes in the following fields: electronics, telecommunications and electromagnetic fields, automation systems and robotics, computers and information processing, bioengineering. The courses are organized with in-class teaching, practice, design, and laboratory activities. They will be given fully in English by staff Professors, and will include sections and seminars given by experts from the international academic or industrial community.
