The present Master Programme in Medical Physics (2008-2010) is a continuation of the Master Programmes in "Medical Physics" and "Biophysics" from the period 1999-2002, as well as of the Master Programme in "Biophysics and Medical Physics" from the period 2002-2008. At the same time, the Master Programme is a natural continuation of the First Cycle of study in Medical Physics specialization, already accredited at the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest.
In the years elapsed from the successive initiations of the three mentioned Master Programmes, the involved didactic staff had acquired a valuable experience and a high expertise that allowed the improvement of the present Master Programmes, as well as of the present Subject Programmes associated to the study disciplines.
The Master Programme in Medical Physics is assuring a complex theoretical and experimental education in the field of Medical Physics which will allow, by its large interface, a smooth integration of the postgraduate students in Centers, Laboratories, Hospitals and other medical institutions and their easy access to more targeted specializations, by the Doctoral Programmes in Medical Physics or by post university very specialized courses like: Internal Dosimetry, PET and SPECT Imagery, Brachiterapy, Electron/Proton/Heavy Ion Therapy, Laser Therapy etc.
