Founded in 1994 by the British Council, the British Cultural Studies (BCS) MA programme is fully integrated in Romanian higher education. The programme is made up of two broad components: Cltural Identity and Britishness. Markedly interdisciplinary and internationally homologated, the BCS programme comprises such courses as: History of Ideas - Cultural Identity, Cultural and Intellectual History, Cultural Anthropology, Re-Mapping Cultural Space, National Identity, (Post)Colonialism and (Post)Communism, Argumentation and Critical Thinking, Media Culture and Gender Representation, Business Communication and Development, Religious Values and Institutions in British Culture, Discourse and the Public Sphere. BCS graduates meet occupational chances in fields such as: public relations (PR), media, business; courses taught in the programme also favour educational activity, their contents being the result of a comprehensive curricular reshuffle. MA students attending BCS come from a variety of social sciences and humanities (SCH) faculties and are appreciative of: its interdisciplinary character, multi- and inter-cultural exposure, and the international recognition of its graduation diploma.
