The programme provides an image over the Romans´ world evolution and its subsequent fragmentation within the Romance world, following two directions: the Latin language and culture - Romance languages and cultures, thus offering a diachronic and synchronic perspective on the Romance linguistic and cultural space, which is the specialisation field of a graduate. Its goal is to integrate the isolated approach to the Roman world provided by current specialisations in the context historically formed on the ancient cultural basis and which preserves its unity during its evolution. Thus, the modules (Hispanic Studies, Classic Philology, Romance Linguistics), that offer limited specialisation courses, are united by a common core (a group of subjects given to all students registered in the programme), offering a comparative general perspective; two workshop units shall be added, designed to develop scientific research skill, trying at the same time to improve students´ language knowledge.
