In the Master Forensics, Criminology and Law, lecturers and researchers engaged in criminal law, criminology, economics, medicine and psychology work together, making optimal use of the forensics-related know-how and research available in their respective faculties.
All staff members are engaged in highly qualified scientific research programmes and incorporate the findings of their research activities in the different courses. Due to the fact that a number of staff members also render services to the Maastricht Forensic Institute (tMFI), there is a direct link between the activities of tMFI and the courses in the Master in Forensics, Criminology and Law. The connection with real-life cases is also enhanced by means of apprenticeships and guest lectures.
With highly specialised and experienced academic staff from across Europe, the Forensics, Criminology and Law programme mirrors living and working in an integrated Europe. Staff members have worked at research institutes, think-tanks and NGOs all over Europe, and some at the Maastricht Forensic Institute (tMFI).More than one-third of the student population is from outside the Netherlands and over 700 exchange students come to study every year. The language of instruction for the programme is English, the most widely used international language.
