The Master in Computer Assisted Translation (Translation and New Technologies) aims at training experts in Communication and Information Technology applicable to translation.
Currently, the process of translation in the knowledge society is carried out by means of computers and computer assisted translation tools. In fact, such technology has generated the need to translate a great variety of digital formats that may only be translated with the aid of specific computer tools and resources.
Being able to use these tools, for example, is essential in the area of specialized translation (scientific, technical or legal translation, for instance).
In this context, the current job market requires translators who are familiar with computer assisted translation tools and new digital formats.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Take test* A bachelors degree in Translation and Interpretation (or equivalent) is required to enroll in the Master in Computer Assisted Translation.
* Equivalent refers to the area of philology or a foreign university degree in modern languages equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Translation and Interpretation.
* Students in the fourth year of the Bachelor in Translation and Interpretation who anticipate graduating during the academic year 2009-2010 ay also be admitted.
