More than number crunching
The MAAC is about much more than just number crunching. You need to be able to to both support and direct staff - controlling, evaluating, analysing and budgeting. You´ll learn all about strategic financial planning, overseeing capital expenditures and information processing. You´ll need to keep up-to-date with daily movements in the market.
Studyprogramme Master in Accounting and Control
The Master in Accounting and Control (MAAC), which is totally taught in English, prepares you with a professional study programme including:

* Information Management
* Organisational Knowledge
* Professional Ethics
* Tax Systems
* Business Law
The MAAC course is made up of four phases, each of which involve a number of `modules.´ The modules that are designed to develop and deepend your business skills gradually, progressing in a logical order.
At the end of each phase, you´ll be expected to produce a different project, bringing together everything you´ve learned in your different modules.
To help you specialise, the modules follow two different streams - one for Management Accounting, one for Information Management.

Phase Five of the MAAC is a 50-page dissertation. You´ll analyse a problem, using a typical management scenario. This piece of research will show that you can apply everything you´ve learnt during the course.
Course Schedules
All lectures take place in The Hague University building.
The full-time programme starts in September and runs for 12 months, and normally involves three days of lectures a week.
The part-time programme starts in January and runs for 26 months, it normally involves 2 evenings a week, a Monday evening and a Thursday evening from 19:00 hours till 22:00 hours.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

* Do you have a minimum of two years relevant professional or managerial experience?
* Do you have a degree from a recognised University (or institute of higher education equivalent) in either Business Studies or in a subject with a business emphasis?
Interviews
We interview candidates as part of our admission process. During these interview we discuss any expectations that you may have of the course. We will also be able to tell you what we expect of our students.
Additional requirements
GMAT
You´ll also need a score of 450 or above, on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). To do well, it takes at least 2 months of preparation.

TOEFL- or IELTS-test
In order to make sure that you have an adequate command of the English language you will have to pass a test. These are the so-called TOEFL- (or IELTS-(tests. If the language of instruction during your previous education was/is English or if you are a European Union-national with English as subject during your previous education, you are not required to take a TOEFL- or IELTS-test.
Visas and residence permits
Many non-European Union students that want to stay in The Netherlands to study need an MVV (Provisional Residence Permit).
You don´t need a visa if you come from: member states of the EU or EEA, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, South Korea or Monaco.
If you need an MVV, as a part time MAAC applicant, you can apply for one yourself. As a full time MAAC applicant we can apply on your behalf. It takes up to six weeks to process, so you need to start early (as soon as you get your acceptance letter).

The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) awarded the Master in Accounting and Control a Master of Science (MSc) in February 2006.
The Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO) accredited the Master in Accounting & Control in September 2006.
