The IHR MRes/PGDip/PGCert in Health Research is designed for those who want to refine their understanding and research skills in relation to the broad domain of health, illness and disability through a flexible online distance learning course.
This course is also designed for those who want to refine their understanding, evaluation, audit and research skills in the broad domains of health, illness and
disability. The programme provides students with guidance related to their chosen pathway of study as well as both generic and pathway-specific training in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
With it's flexible structure, online delivery and specialised pathway options - taught by some of the leading academics in each field - it will be of particular interest to professionals working in the health and disability services and in the related fields of health and social welfare across both national and international contexts. The programme will also be of interest to students interested in social scientific approaches to health, illness and disability.

The programme is delivered through online distance learning, giving you the freedom to choose when you study. Teaching takes place through lectures available via the web; collaborative, guided discussion; group work and individual reading and research.
The programme starts with an induction to introduce you to your fellow students, the Department, Lancaster University, and elearning. Attendance is strongly recommended.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

A second class honours degree. Candidates who hold other equivalent academic and/or professional qualifications will be considered for entry if they can provide evidence of the ability to undertake work at postgraduate level.
