Location of The University of Manchester

Research programmes are available in areas including Environmental Planning, Urban Planning and Regeneration, Urban and Regional Development, Strategic and Local Planning, and Sustainability. Based on an individual initial skills audit, students may take course units on planning theory, research design process, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, together with course units that support their specific research specialism that are chosen from the suite of graduate programme course units available within Planning.

Requirements

Academic Requirement - Entrants are expected to have either a First or Upper Second class degree (or its international equivalent). Applicants for direct entry to the PhD are expected to have relevant post first degree experience (generally a Masters degree).

Langauage Requirement - Students whose first language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 600 (paper based) or 250 (computer based).
