This course focuses on a specific research topic that is decided on an individual basis and can be started at any time of the year.

You will undertake an induction course which leads to the production of a learning contract that outlines project objectives and outcome expectations as agreed by both yourself and your appointed research supervisor.

At the end of the first two months you will deliver a preliminary research reportthat effectively provides specific details in terms of background research project information and all subsequent project milestones. This initial report counts as 20% of the overall degree assessment. The next eight months are spent on research project work and the final two months are devoted in writing a project dissertation. Upon the successful completion of this MSc by Research programme, you will have clearly demonstrated the ability to encompass the time management and technical professionalism required to complete postgraduate research, withinthe dynamic, industry-linked training environment offered by the Department and InfoLab21.
