The program aims at developing linguistic knowledge concerning Romanian language, studying its basic structures and usage, by emphasizing its characteristic typology, and also its historical, regional, stylistic, and socio-linguistic diversity. Due to its theoretical and practical approach, the program is based on a general curriculum and three specializations: I. Structure and use of the contemporary Romanian; II. Romanian from a diachronical perspective; III. Pragmatics and stylistics. These three specializations get separated in the second semester through particular courses and workshops. This MA program addresses mainly graduates from the faculties of Letters, Foreign Languages, Communication and Journalism, but also other graduates from Psychology, Sociology, Political Studies etc., who are interested in interdisciplinary research or in practicing their linguistic competence (psycho-linguistics, socio-linguistics, analysis of political discourse etc). Its modular structure helps drawing useful paths for researchers, teachers (fresh graduates or from previous generations), and professionals in various fields.
