The M.A. program in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature addresses those graduates from the Faculty of Letters (and other related human science schools) who intend to develop their intellectual horizon through the familiarization with recent trends in other disciplinary fields and foreign literatures. By means of its variety of thematic courses the program encourages interdisciplinary dialogue. The advance training courses and seminars taught by the department´s faculty and invited professors discuss major themes in the contemporary cultural debate. The program has two dimensions - a didactic and a research one - and represents a path to the doctoral programs in the above fields, as well as a "passport" towards careers in education, research, media, editing, and cultural management. During the study program the M.A. students are offered the chance to apply for scholarships by means of Erasmus bilateral agreements and to take part in research programs, conferences, and seminars organized in the framework of the "Tudor Vianu" Centre of Interdisciplinary Research in European and Romanian Cultural Studies (CISCER) of the University of Bucharest.
