The MA Programme for the Translation of the Contemporary Literary Text focusses on the students´ initiation in the problems encountered during the translation of contemporary literary texts (implying more than just literature: any educated text can be lietrary, including subtitling, publicity, radio broadcasts, political discourse). The programme aims at a solid knowledge of Romanian and English/ French/ German/ Spanish/ Italian/ Greek/ Arabic/ Turkish (the programme is still open to other languages), especially in its educated hypostasis.
The programme organizes `internships´ initiated by the Director of the programme (Prof. Lidia Vianu) hosted by the Romanian Broadcast Corporation, theatres, Romanian TV, publishing houses, offices dealing with subtitling and publicity, SIVECO, etc.
It is mainly an applied programme: it means to make Romanian culture known aborad, and acquaint Romanian intellectuals with foreigh cultivated texts, by means of a series of international cultural projects.
