With a view to extending the Sacred Arts studies, the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest has proposed the Master´s Degree Program CONTEMPORARY SACRED ART with a 2-year (4-semester) duration. It complies with Law no. 288 of 24 June 2004 and Decision no. 404/2006 of 29/03/2006, concerning the Organization and Conducting of Master´s Degree Programs. The master´s degree program is profession-oriented in the sense of acquiring professional skills in the field of contemporary sacred art, and constitutes an academic structure specializing in the field of ecclesial cultural patrimony within the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "Patriarch Justinian" of Bucharest University. It represents a superior stage in the professional training and formation which continues and develops the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired within the Bachelor program, majoring in Sacred Art. This Master´s degree program answers the demands for extending studies and knowledge by graduates from Sacred Art, as well as those of complementary fields (Fine Arts, Architecture, Theology). It also responds to the need to protect and preserve the ecclesial cultural patrimony at large, to coordinate campaigns and programs of preservation of our spiritual and historical legacy, to continue the church painting tradition. The mission of this MA program consists in professionalization at superior level of BA graduates.
