In compliance with Law no. 288 of 24 June 2004 and Decision no. 404/2006 of 29/03/2006, concerning the Organization and Conducting of Master´s Degree Programs, with a view to extending the Didactic Theology studies, the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, Bucharest University provides the MA program RELIGIOUS STUDIES AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION, over a 2-year (4- semester) period.
Profession-oriented, in the sense of acquiring professional skills in the field of religion teaching at various levels of academic and pre-academic education, it represents a superior stage in the professional training and formation which continues and develops the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired within the Bachelor program, majoring in Didactic Theology.
With a view to satisfying the demands of modern education (the Bologna process), open to dialogue and partnership, to developing the abilities and skills of religion teachers, in agreement with the current European exigencies, the program focuses on aligning the didactic process contents with modern standards, on extending general knowledge of Romanian and universal pedagogy, with practical applicability, on studying and comprehending the diversity of Christian spiritual patrimony. The right to religious education counts among the individual´s fundamental rights within a democratic society, and school must employ the potential of religious values in shaping the human personality.
Master´s degree program RELIGIOUS STUDIES AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION answers the demands for extending studies by graduates from Didactic Theology, Theology- Philology, Theology-a foreign language, as well as those of complementary fields (Pastoral Theology, Communication science, Philosophy, Psychology-pedagogy etc.).
