The MSc by Research degrees are designed to fit around your research interests and are assessed on a piece of original research carried out with the Department, and subsequent submission of a dissertation. MSc by Research courses are suitable for those wanting to undertake only research, rather than taught courses and they are particularly suited to those who may wish to undertake research associated with their employment but would like to submit the work as a thesis for a higher degree. A range of research opportunities are available.

Typically, you will be expected to undertake an induction course, followed by an eight-month research project, and then spend three further months writing up the dissertation.
