Who is it for?
The MA in Developing Professional Practice (Health Care) is a part-time, work based masters degree designed to meet the needs of managers and professionals promoting or leading change in health care.
This course is for mid career health care professionals interested in organisational change and developing professional practice in the workplace. We aim to help you to Increase your understanding of change processes in the workplace; enhance and develop your own professional practice and bring about positive change in your own organisation.
The MA has two parts :
* In Part 1 you learn how, why and when change happens in organisations
* In Part 2 you apply this learning to your own workplace. you do this by designing and implementing a work based project, focused on developing you professional practice, and negotiated with your employer, to ensure its usefulness
It is delivered:
* Over 2 years
* Using online materials plus 17 day-long sessions (9.30am – 4.30pm) at Lancaster University (or your workplace for cohorts from the same organisation)
* By tutors with extensive vocational experience as well as appropriate subject knowledge
* Between sessions, you learn by private study

- an Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification and at least 3 years relevant work experience
or
- successful experience of honours level (final year undergraduate) study in the last 3 years
If you do not meet either of these entry requirements, you may still be able to apply on the basis of line manager recommendation, interview and a 1,000 word critique of a set journal article on organisational change.
