Location of Loughborough University

This programme aims to give students from a wide range of backgrounds a firm grounding in transport policy, planning and business management to prepare them for a professional career in the transport field. Students study 100 credits of core modules and 20 credits of optional modules and undertake a 60 credit project. The project is a substantive piece of independent research that the student will develop in collaboration with an academic supervisor. Topics will normally be generated by the student and related to current policy and management issues in the transport sector.

Assessment
Most modules: exam 50%, coursework 50%. Project module: 60 credits.

Requirements

A good honours degree in human geography, economics, business or management studies, social sciences, environmental studies, civil engineering, planning, or other related subject.

English language
All applicants must have an acceptable qualification in English language before they can be admitted to any postgraduate programme. Below are the main English language qualifications acceptable for entry to the University (these are the minimum and some departments may require higher levels):

* GCSE English Language – Grade C or above
* IELTS band 6.5 or above with not less than 6.0 in each sub test
* TOEFL (including the Tests in Written and Spoken Practice) minimum score of 600 (paper-based test) or 100 (Internet-based test) with specific requirements for sub tests
