Signal processing makes a unique and critical contribution to communication systems, ensuring that all signals sent arrive at their destination as intended. This specialised study covers operations on and analysis of both analogue and digital signals. It has application and relevance to mobile, networked and digital communication systems.
This new MSc programme provides a thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques required for the design and development of the signal processing elements of the latest communication systems.
These include the intelligent antenna and transmission technology being developed for emerging broadband systems such WiMAX and 3GPP LTE.
The programme will provide key skills for employment in this exciting field such as experience in MATLAB-based tools and real-time signal processing with the latest Texas Instruments DSP chips.
