You take compulsory modules (120 credits) which are delivered as short, intensive schools with time after the module to complete the assignments, where applicable. The modules include: fundamentals of subsea engineering ; design and manufacture of pipelines, umbilicals and risers; materials and corrosion aspects of subsea engineering; subsea control and communication systems; advanced operations management; deepwater pipeline design; subsea project management application; subsea surveying, positioning and installation; reliability and integrity management of subsea systems; and dynamics of subsea installations. You also undertake a research project leading to a dissertation (60 credits). The research project is supported by an academic supervisor and may be conducted with an industrial partner which, where appropriate, may be your employer.
