This programme is intended to provide both basic training in preparation for higher degrees by research (MPhil/PhD) and vocational training for careers in the financial services sectors of industry and Government, particularly banking and central banking.
The MSc in Banking and Finance provides training in banking, finance and research methods. It also allows continued specialisation in either microeconomics or macroeconomics. This enables students to develop expertise in areas of economics, banking and finance that suit them best. A very wide choice of options is available.

Choice of Semester 2 modules may be restricted by the options selected in Semester 1. The Department reserves the right to vary the list of optional modules. Option lists are published in September and January each year.
Summer Period
Students satisfy the research requirement by examined participation in research seminars. Subject to special conditions, students may submit a dissertation instead.
Assessment
75% examination, 25% coursework for most modules.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testGood UK honours degree in Economics, Banking or Finance, or joint honours in Economics and Finance. Where the UK honours degree system is not used, a substantial relevant content is required with high grades.
