The MA programmes are intended for honours graduates who wish to enhance their prospects of employment in the financial services sectors of Government and commerce. Designed to appeal to people who do not have specialist undergraduate preparation in formal economic theory or quantitative methods, the programmes emphasise vocational relevance and conceptual clarity in modern theory and practice.

Choice of Semester 2 modules may be restricted by the options selected in Semester 1. The Department reserves the right to vary the list of optional modules. Option lists are published in September and January each year.
Summer Period
Students will satisfy the research requirement of the MA by examined participation in research practice.
Assessment
75% examination, 25% coursework for most modules.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationGood UK honours degree, ideally with some preparation in Economics or Finance. Non-specialist degrees with very high marks may be acceptable. Where the UK honours degree system is not used, a substantial relevant content is required with high grades.
