The Masters by Research programme is ideally suited to:
* those in industrial or commercial employment who wish to undertake R&D on a part-time basis around a work challenge/issue.
* individuals with a desire to develop a particular area of personal interest.
* Individuals considering pursuing further research to MPhil/PhD.
Your research work can be realised through practice, thesis, or a combination of the two.
The programme and the ethos within the School encourages, and enables, interaction and cross-disciplinary enquiry, research and applied creativity to contemporary art & design practice. There will be opportunities to interact with the wider school postgraduate community, other taught and research Master´s students, MPhil/PhD students and staff.
Special Features
Art & Design is a global language and crosses many boundaries and really has no limits. The School has a wide range of expertise in numerous disciplines and specialisms within the broad fields of Art, Design and Architecture.
Each degree is tailored to the individual student's requirements, so it is possible to design a research project whereby the student works closely with one or more members of University staff (the supervisory team) who provide specialist knowledge and supervisory input, also enabling access to the equipment and information resources of the University.
The MA programme in the School of Art, Design & Architecture is designed on a principal of both individual and collaborative thinking and an inter-disciplinary MA community.
This encourages and enables important interaction and cross disciplinary relationships to be explored, developed and extended which enhances knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art and design practitioner, and extends your `craft´, inquisitively, intellectually and practically.
