The Master of Arts in Public Relations is a one-year full time programme combining lectures, project work, the production of an academic dissertation and work experience with a view to preparing students for a successful career in public relations.
Upon completion of the course, graduates will have a thorough understanding of public relations and the issues confronting it in the modern world. The course boasts a particular emphasis on the theory and practice of public relations as a function of strategic management.

Assessment Assessment is undertaken through examinations at the end of each semester in January and May, through project work and class presentations and by means of continual assessment.
The submission of an academic dissertation of between ten and twenty thousand words at the completion of the course in September accounts for thirty per cent of the marks associated with the course.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Prospective candidates should complete an application form for this course either on-line or by post from the Postgraduate Admissions Office at DIT. Qualified applicants may be invited for interview in late May-early June. Selection is based on the candidates understanding of and motivation for a career in public relations. Those completing their primary degree this year may be offered a place subject to attaining a 2:2 honours degree.
Note: Due to the considerable competition for our postgraduate programmes satisfying the minimum entry requirement is not a guarantee of a place. Depending on the programme of study applications will be assessed based on your academic grades and may also take into account your work/life experience. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview for specific programmes.
