This CONVERSION programme is specifically aimed at non-business graduates. So whether your original degree was in science, engineering and technology on the one hand, or law, economics, social sciences, communications and arts on the other, you are equally likely to benefit. The programme is designed as an intensive conversion course for non-business graduates.

Due to its excellent reputation, our entrants come from a wide range of Universities from Ireland and the UK and represent all disciplines. Each year we also have a small number of International students from both within and outside the EU. All have found the breadth, depth and rigor of this programme to be both stimulating and challenging. In consequence, it has benefitted them greatly in developing their careers.

Contents

In Semester 1, you will study all the basic business subjects such as

Marketing

Management

Consuming Behaviour

Finance for Marketers

Marketing Research

Communications and Society

Such accelerated learning is designed to give you the conceptual tools needed to analyse business situations and to undertake business planning. In all areas, we take a hands-on approach so that individual and group coursework accounts for 50% of the assessment for each subject.

A conceptually based course in Dissertation Research Methods forms another essential element of your work this semester. It builds on the foundation of Marketing Research and its task is to equip you to formulate a suitable research topic for your master's dissertation.

In the second semester, you will engage more closely with specialist marketing disciplines. Core subjects such as

Strategic Management

Marketing Data Analysis

Marketing Communications are studied in considerable depth. These will require you to exercise your analytic and decision-making skills by means of case studies. In addition, you will make an in-depth study of TWO areas of marketing specialisation:

These are selected from the current set of electives:

Business to Business MarketingManagement of SalesInternational MarketingAdvanced Business FrenchInteractive MarketingData Driven MarketingServices Marketing

Any TWO may be selected from the above list, which are offered each year subject to minimum numbers.

Your research supervisor is also allocated at this stage and you will work on an on-going basis to shape your research which is conducted in the Third Semester. The dissertation is due for submission on 1st October each year.
