The course will provide you with the ability to learn, understand, explore and acquire a critical understanding of the many issues that fall under the umbrella of the new area of socio-legal studies known as "cyberlaw".
You will develop a range of competencies that will start with practical skills in WWW based legal research and end with designing, conducting and writing your own research in the area of cyberlaw.
To assist you, internet sites that contain source materials and search facilities will support you in your programme of study.
Our LLM Cyberlaw programme builds upon the School of Law's innovative research and teaching work within the subject of Cyberlaw.
Probably one of the first ever postgraduate degree programmes in Information Technology, Law and Society, LLM Cyberlaw enables students to explore not only the law relevant to cyberlaw but also the legal issues and policy debates that underlie its regulation.
Our programme is broader and more analytical than LLM programmes in 'computers and law' elsewhere, as it explores not only the law but also the legal issues and debates that underlie regulation.
This course enables you to pursue a career in legal practice, or the public service, or any career where success depends upon the ability to understand, analyse and respond to developments in Information Technology, Law and Society.
This course has four compulsory modules. You also choose another two or three optional modules to complete your programme.

Research Methods focuses on the mechanics of the research process: how to formulate research questions, design research strategies and generally go about the process of 'researching.'
