The course aims to provide professionals in this fast-growing field with the knowledge and skills needed to develop better practice, by reviewing current theoretical concepts and applying them to the evaluation and development of classroom activities, teaching materials and curricula used for TEYL.
On completion of the course you will have a more in-depth understanding of how children learn languages, and the most appropriate approaches and methods for teaching children English.
Who is the course for?
The programme is designed for those involved in the teaching of English as a foreign language to school-aged children. If you do not yet have the necessary teaching experience for this specialist MA, however, but are very interested in teaching English to young learners in the future, you might wish to consider the pre-experience MA TESOL Studies which offers a specialist module in TEYL as part of the programme.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA Bachelor degree or equivalent professional qualification and two years' relevant experience are required. If you do not have two years' relevant experience you should apply for the MA TESOL Studies.
If you are not a native speaker of English you will also need to meet the following English Language Requirements;
* IELTS 6.5 with no grade below 6.0
* TOEFL paper-based 580 + TWE 4.0
* TOEFL computer-based 240 with essay 4.0
