Location of EADA Business School

The MBAs of EADA provide the participants with a professional competitive advantage, emphasising three fundamental areas:

* Confidence in the techniques and specific tools of management in the areas of Marketing, Finances, Strategy, Human Resources and Operations.


* Development of the essential personal competencies needed in an executive.


* Acquisition of a global vision of the company and its strategic position in the market.



Methodology

EADA has developed its own practical, active and participatory approach with an emphasis on "learning by doing". The methodology reflects companies' demand for professionals with skills such as: the capacity to reflect, ability to act in the face of change, versatility to work in multifunctional teams and adaptability to the challenges of a global environment.

These competencies are developed at EADA through the Case Method, Business Projects, Business Simulations, Analysis & Discussion Groups and Team Working activities. Participants are consistently placed in real-life business situations and forced to think like executives and make strategic decisions.

Exchange programme

EADA offers participants the opportunity to supplement their learning with an exchange programme once they have successfully completed their MBA in Barcelona. Participants study one term abroad in our selected network of international partner schools:

FIRST TRIMESTER (SEPT. – DEC.)

Managerial skills

Professional Development I (Foundations)

This module will initiate participants into a process of reflection and action that has been designed to aid them in developing their competencies. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Professional Development II (Effective Business Communication)

This module focuses on learning and developing the professionals skills needed to manage people effectively. It is focused on presentations skills and managing meetings. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.
Professional Development III (Negotiation Skills)

In this module participants are given tools and techniques to strengthen their negotiation skills and become productive managers who can creative deals with lasting value for all parties involved. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.
Core courses

Business Analysis and Planning

Participants acquire the capacity to assimilate financial information and propose business recommendations based on the analysis of the company's financial statements.

Business Life Cycle I (New Business and Growth)

The Business Life Cycle module is based on the anthropomorphic analogy between business development and life. Organizations evolve consecutively through the stages of creation, growth, consolidation and revitalization. This course is focused on the challenges of creation and growth.

Strategic Management I

This course provides the basis for defining and implementing the corporate vision and mission, as well as business values and strategies. Participants learn to evaluate the competitive position of a company in terms of rigorous internal and external analysis and also to consider the key factors that enable sustainable competitive advantage.

Managerial Economics I

Participants consider the social, political and economic issues that affect the daily management of the corporation and require management decisions of critical importance for the company.
Human Resources Management This course takes participants through the strategic and tactical steps involved in resource forecasting, planning, selection, reward, evaluation and training.
Marketing Management I

The strategic role of marketing is considered and pitted against the fundamental characteristics of consumer behaviour and market research techniques.

Operations Management

The course focuses on improving competitiveness by effectively designing production processes, establishing quality criteria and implementing control mechanisms.

SECOND TRIMESTER (JAN. – MAR.)

Managerial skills

Professional Development IV (Managing Oneself & Others)

The principal focus of this module is on the skills, abilities and attitudes that increase our self-management, initiative and self-motivation, as well as effective communication. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Professional Development V (Leading People & Teams)

In order to fully take advantage of the potential benefits of teamwork, it is important to understand how people work in different situations and how their participation can be optimised. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Core courses

Business Life Cycle II (Consolidation and Business Efficiency)

The Business Life Cycle module is based on the anthropomorphic analogy between business development and life. Organizations evolve consecutively through the stages of creation, growth, consolidation and revitalization. This course focuses on the challenges in consolidation and revitalization.
Managerial Economics II

The second part of this course is based on emerging economies and the impact globalization has on them. Students will learn to recognise and assess the different states of these economies.

Financial Decision Making

This course covers managerial concepts and techniques for products and service costing. Participants will learn how to use cost accounting information to aid managerial goals and acquire the tools for analysing the viability of investment.

Socially Responsible Implementation

The implementation module deals with the challenge of transforming a strategic plan into action, and ultimately, into results. The implementation process is a complex one due to the quantity of activities that are involved, the different ways in which managers approach it, the skills necessary and the resistance to change.

Management Control

Management control must encompass all the company’s functional areas, guaranteeing there are mechanisms that can measure the most significant profit indicators as well as decision-making processes regarding how much added value the business generates.

Management of Information Systems

Information technology is looked at from a strategic perspective and consideration given to two related but competing functions: supporting the existing business activities and enabling new business innovations. Also relevant knowledge related to well known examples of IS such as ERP, CRM.

Marketing Management II

The aim of this course is to identify coherent strategies related to key variables of the marketing mix: product, price, distribution, sales and communication. Elaboration of a marketing plan is used to put these concepts into practice.

Marketing Plan

Participants will complete a marketing plan, taking into account objectives, the basic marketing strategies of variables in the marketing mix and a provisional operating account or analysis of financial viability. This prepares participants to face a real-life business situation.

Marketing Simulator

A computer-based simulation allows teams to put concepts into practice and see immediate results based on a competitive business environment.

Corporate Finance Strategy

Special emphasis is placed on understanding the cost of financial resources and developing business relationships with financial institutions.
Working Capital Management

Participants apply financial tools to evaluate investment decisions and decide on the right combination of financial instruments required to meet the company's short term needs.

THIRD TRIMESTER (APR. – JUL.)

Electives During the final month of the programme and during the International Week modules, participants have the option to choose from a variety of elective courses that fall under the areas of international management, international marketing, international finance and personal development. Examples of electives in previous years include:

* Personal Finances and Investment Decisions
* Venture Capital and Corporate Finance

Note: Electives change from year to year based on changing business and academic environments.
Final Class Project The aim of the EADA Final Project is to give participants the opportunity to apply what they have learned to the business challenges faced by some of today’s leading companies. Some examples of past projects include Easyparking: low cost parking in Prat Airport, CHITOSAN: production and commercialisation of a biopolymer and Connect Air Business Plan.

International Week Abroad

Each year, EADA invites MBA alumni to participate in a course focused on an area of current business trends in a world-renown business school in Europe, Asia or the Americas. The course provides continuous professional development for alumni as well as valuable opportunities for networking.

Requirements

Steps in admission process:

1. Fill out application form online

2. Send the following documentation

- Certified copy of your university degree
- Academic record
- 2 letters of recommendation
- 1 passport-size photo (duly identified)

- 1 photocopy of your passport and your national identification card

- Two essay questions:

1. Describe why you have chosen to pursue an MBA at EADA now. How do you expect the MBA to benefit you professionally and personally, and how can you contribute to the programme. (500 words),

2. Describe the skills needed to succeed as a manager in today's global workplace. (500 words)

3. Candidates need to take the GMAT at an authorized Centre (minimum score: 600). Candidates who have not taken the GMAT can take EADA's own test at the Barcelona EADA office or on-line.

* Additionally, for non-native speakers of English, the TOEFL will be required (minimum score: computer-based 250; paper-based 600; Internet-based 83). A personal interview with the Director of the Programme in English will also be carried out to assess students´ English language abilities.

4. After receiving the documentation, we will contact you to arrange a personal interview with the Director of MBA Programmes.
