In 2009/2010 the Integrated Masters in Chemical Engineering will be structured in different branches. The courses of the first 3 years are the same to all students. They are based on core chemical engineering fundamental knowledge (mathematics, physics, chemical reactions, thermodynamics, transportation, separation processes). And then a more specific training:
Processes and Product: Training more related to traditional Chemical Engineering. This specialization gives special emphasis to design, project, development and optimization of the production of chemical products which are part of peoples´ everyday life.As far as professional skills are concerned, the main goal of the Integrated Masters in Chemical Engineering is to prepare students and make them able to start a professional career in an industrial activity or investigation, with high standards of quality.
Students who complete this academic degree have to be prepared to work as Chemical Engineers in their areas of specialization, either in Portugal or abroad, namely in industrial companies, services companies, project offices, municipal services and governmental agencies.
Masters in Chemical Engineering have many career opportunities, namely in industry, investigation and technical-commercial activities.
