Sustainable energy systems are necessary to overcome the problems related to energy supplies and climate change in the world. Do you want to work with energy conversion technologies and systems for enhancing sustainable development?
EDUCATION
The master programme in Sustainable Energy Systems will provide you with state-of-the-art knowledge within this important area. You will learn about technologies for utilizing the sun, wind and biomass as energy sources. The production of power and heat by way of energy conversion based on steam and gas turbine processes also falls within the scope of this programme. Furthermore, you will learn about performance analyses of different energy systems and process integration. Mathematical methods for the optimization, modelling and simulation of energy systems are also included in the programme.
RESEARCH
This master programme is hosted by the Mälardalen Energy Research and Optimization (MERO) group, which together with strategic partners is one of the leading research groups focusing on energy and process optimization in Sweden. We transfer the latest research results to the education in the master programme. Our students are thus well prepared for a future career at the forefront of the technological development in energy engineering and research.
FUTURE AND CAREER
This education will give you the tools to contribute to the ongoing transition from fossil to renewable energy resources and the increased requirements for energy efficiency. Future employers are primarily in energy companies, consulting firms and public organizations such as municipalities and government agencies. After your degree you will be able to work in a wide range of positions from project manager to plant engineer within the energy area. It is also possible to continue your career as a researcher by applying for postgraduate studies after your degree.
DEGREE
Master of Science in Energy Engineering(two years)*
