The Pharmaceutical Sciences programme is offered in three lines that are connected to the various phases of the drug development process:

· Drug Discovery
· Drug Development
· Medicines and Society

The close concentration of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Copenhagen region coupled with the programme providers´ cooperation with industry provides good opportunities for students to build contacts to future employers while studying.

The first semester of all three lines starts with compulsory courses in Drug Discovery & Development, Principles of Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics & Drug Development. These three courses form a common scientific basis regardless of which line is chosen.

Students will afterwards complete three compulsory courses specific to the chosen line.

In the second year of studies students will create their own individual specialisation in the programme through the choice of elective courses and the MSc theses project. The flexibility in choice of electives and MSc thesis gives the opportunity to target the studies towards a variety of pharmaceutical-related areas of employment, for example: drug discovery, pharmaceutical and chemical drug development and production, or clinical pharmacy.

The programme does not qualify graduates to practice as pharmacists at community or hospital pharmacies in Denmark and other EU countries.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
