Location of ParisTech - Paris Institute of Technology

Led by the Institut d´Optique Graduate School and Ecole Polytechnique in collaboration with several academic partners, the Master´s of Physics in Optics and Nanoscience is a two-year degree course (M1 and M2). The programme takes place at Institut d´Optique Graduate School and Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau.

Objectives

The aim of this program is to provide students with an up-to-date understanding of the fundamental concepts and methods in Optics and Nanosciences and to give them the best preparation for a Ph.D. or a position in a Research & Development Center in a company.

This program aims at training future Research and R&D players in the major Optics and Photonics fields (Instrumental optics, Image science, Lasers and non-linear optics, Electromagnetism and Nanophotonics, Condensed matter, Optoelectronics and Optical fibre telecommunications, Atomic optics, Quantum optics, Quantum information, Biophotonics, etc.). The Nanoscience program focus courses covering all areas of Nanophysics.


Contents

The first year of the programme provides students with an up-to-date understanding of the fundamental concepts and methods inphysics. Students then specialise in the second year in either optics or nanoscience.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
