The Master Programme in Information Systems at Uppsala University is internationally competitive and provides knowledge on information systems and systems development, leading to various Information Technology (IT) related positions, such as system developer, project leader, IT manager, systems architect, test leader, game developer, programmer, web developer, database designer, management consultant, IT educator or researcher.
The focus of the exciting and dynamic field of information systems is on human use of IT in different organizations. IT can be found everywhere, for example, in media, marketing, trading, banking and finance, games and public service. There is also increased interest in new areas, such as environment, tourism, sustainable development and transport.
In our increasingly global world, IT is enabling communication and networking between people, both in private contexts and in professional businesses.
The Master Programme in Information Systems prepares you to pave the way in the rapidly developing area of Information Technology.
The courses leading to the degree provides a holistic understanding of how to develop useful IT systems based on the latest development and research in the IT field.
In addition to studies in information systems, the programme also includes creditshuman-computer interaction, media and communication, and business administration. System developers often collaborate with both customers and suppliers, and different users such as administrators, managers, engineers and communicators.

The courses are given in English in the form of lectures, lessons, laboratory work and seminars. The examination comprises written tests, seminars and assignments. The grades Pass or Pass with distinction are given upon successful completion of each course.

Bachelor degree in Information Systems (180 credits), Computer Science (180 credits) or equivalent bachelor degree including at least 90 credits in related subjects to information systems.
