After finishing the program, you will know more about the different areas of the contemporary British and American studies. You can become teachers, journalists, reviewers, editors, as well as work in the field of international relations with a view to the expansion of the Euro-Atlantic structures.
You will acquire the necessary competence in the field of history, cultural sociology, art and literature of USA and Great Britain - in a comparative plan. You will make a critical analysis of scientific literature to define and decide - research and practical assignments, arising from globalisation and the world transition to multicultureness.
Program graduates will have:
* professional knowledge, on a comparative basis, in United States´ and Britain´s history, law and politics, cultural sociology, arts and humanities, literature.
* specialized interdisciplinary training in subfields such as American and British cultural history, political discourse, business culture, interethnic communications, lliterary trends.
* the ability to do critical research, to define and solve expert and practical tasks according to the realities of globalization and world´s transition towards multiculturality
* professional skills and cultural background that will enable them to realize themselves as teachers, journalists, translators, librarians, referents, also in the spheres of book publishing, international tourism and international relations with respect to the enlargement of the European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
* self-confidence and motivation so as to continue their education in a PhD program.

* B.A. in the humanities or the social sciences (as well as in other fields in the opinion of the program chair; candidates with a B.A. in a field other than those indicated, will take parallel specialized courses);
* English language proficiency - B2 at least;

INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION by THE NATIONAL EVALUATION AND ACCREDITATIONAGENCY -
On 5th July 2001 NBU obtained from the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency an institutional accreditation for the maximum 6-year period. This accreditation entitles NBU to enrol students and issue higher education diplomas, recognized by the state. In the month of September 2005, the New Bulgarian University passed through the second procedure of institutional accreditation. The masters program “Law” of the New Bulgarian University obtained program accreditation from the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency – Outgoing No 397, 22nd June 2004.
ACCREDITATION BY The Open University, London -
On 18th October 2004 the New Bulgarian University obtained accreditation for an initial five- year period from the Open University, Great Britain. The accreditation entitles NBU to offer education on the programs of the Open University.
ACCREDITATION BY OPTIMA -
In the beginning of 2004 the foreign language general educational courses of NBU were accredited by OPTIMA – the Bulgarian branch of the international association for quality language services (EAQUALS-ALTE). OPTIMA’s logo guarantees quality of the language environment and high level training, high standard of teaching and training, ensured by qualified teachers, professionalism and high morality, correctness and reliability of the information, related to the training conditions and payment, engagement in the implementation and development of the foreign language training standards, regular monitoring (inspection) of the educational process, precise evaluation of the language level of the students through entry tests, tracking the progress of the students through current and final tests, opportunity for the students to express their opinion of the course, clear and correct procedure for solving of problems related to complaints, issuing of a certificate for a completed level and results at the end of the course.
