The focus in the Operations and Supply Chain Excellence programme is on the design, the planning & control and improvement of the primary operations of an organisation: operations management, innovation management, supply chain management, IT management, sourcing & purchasing, service management and reverse logistics as well as network organisation and distribution management.
The programme provides insight into management thinking and strategies, frameworks and specific methods to raise operational excellence in your organisation to the next level through quality management, value based management and project management.
We provide an analytical view of operations and address strategic insights that will help you improve the core activities of your organisation.
Overview
The programme comprises 12 modules. You finish the master programme with a final project. This project is dedicated to one topic that is chosen together with the academic director. Many students choose a topic within their own organisation which allows them, after successful finalisation of this project, to show direct returns on investment to their own working environment.
Within the programme there is a specialisation towards Operations (MO) or Transport and Logistics (MTL).
Module 8, 9, 10 and 11 are parallel modules for each of these specialisations.
Modules:
Papers and Assignments
After each module, you will be evaluated by a (written) assignment, which may take the form of a paper, a set of exercises, or a case study. The assignment will be directly related to course content. For some modules the assignments are combined or can be done in a group of students.
Final Project
After completing all modules, you need to do a final project. In this project you apply the theory dealt with in the modules to your own work situation, or another relevant context, while integrating all topics. This thesis forms the basis for the final examination that marks the end of the programme before the students receive their diplomas on graduation day.
