The MSc Strategic Marketing will draw on the expertise of both the marketing faculty* as well as experts in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and sustainability to provide a uniquely Imperial view of strategic marketing.

Technology is an integral part of the programme, which will include a range of teaching innovations that will enhance your learning, and bring digital media, and particularly social media, into the classroom. Student assignments will take on a variety of formats, and websites will be used in a learning context; students will also be required to develop a website as part of their marketing plan.

During the programme you will study twelve core courses. The Marketing Core consists of six courses that provide a broad business understanding for students as a foundation for the focused study of marketing. You will also complete an online course on Online Technology in Marketing. The Marketing Platform consists of six courses that deepen your understanding of marketing. You will also undertake a Marketing Plan Competition, where you will be required to develop a clear multi-channel marketing plan for an idea of your choice.

Requirements

We are looking for dynamic thinkers with a passion for marketing, and the intellect to put theory into practice. You should be prepared for a programme that covers the entire marketing spectrum, from consumer behaviour and branding, to pricing and market analytics.

All applicants must have sound business knowledge prior to commencing this programme since it builds on these skills. Students on this programme should typically be new or recent graduates.

  • To apply you need:
    A UK 2.1 honours degree or above (or equivalent) in business studies, management or a closely related programme.
  • An English language qualification:
    - GCSE, IGCSE, GCE ‘O’ Level, or equivalent, at grade B
    - Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) at grade B
    - IELTS (academic): A minimum overall score of 7.0, with a minimum score of 6.5 in writing and speaking
    - TOEFL (computer-based): A minimum score of 250 (TWE of 4.5+)
    - TOEFL (internet-based): A minimum overall score of 100, with a minimum score of 24 in writing and 24 in speaking.

Please note:

  • Our English language requirements are applicable to Home, EU and Overseas students
  • TOEFL and IELTS scores will only be valid if they are less than two years old on the programme start date
  • Our English language requirements are higher than the minimum standard set by Imperial College and waivers will only be considered under exceptional circumstances
  • We do not require the GMAT or GRE for the MSc Strategic Marketing programme.
